Er-Tong, the factory site had been served the industry of China for over 80 years, but now the site is closed and remained as a great ruin of architecture. The brief of design competition is to suggest an idea of revitalising the factory site for public uses as visiting attractions.

 

Our proposal is to retain all architectural ruins as they are and encourage to insert minimal architectural interventions such as footpaths, bridges, shelters, terraces etc to make the site start to interact with visitors.

 

 Also we encourage the nature to grow a new ecosystem such as woodlands, swamps, green fields, streams etc and it will be slowly matured by weather and time.
